Hoodia Gordoni is a succulent cactus-like plant found in the desert regions of  Namibia, Angola, and Botswana South Africa.   For hundreds of years the San Bushman of the Kalahari Desert have used the plant by sucking the meat (inside) of the plant) of it’s juices to counter hunger and thirst when on long hunting expeditions in the desert.  Hoodia Gordonii is all natural but only the core from the aerial stems of the plant have been identified as having the active ingredient (the P-57 molecule) necessary to eliminate hunger.   Products containing any kind of fillers such as pulp, skins, flowers, roots or other parts of the Hoodia Gordonii  variety of plant are not pure and probably will not work for you.   Products claiming they use 100% of the plants probably are including useless bulk in the formula.   The outer skin provides NO benefit and makes up a good percentage of the weight of the plant.   Hoodia  is not a drug and has no stimulant properties thus it is not prone to making a person nervous or queezy but what it does is trick the brain into thinking you’ve eaten and makes you feel full.   It may work right away for some people but it may take a few weeks for others.

The key results of hoodia that has been reported includes a reduced interest in food, a delay in the time after eating before hunger sets in, feeling full more quickly, and a general feeling of well-being.  It is important to remember to drink a minimum of eight to ten 12-ounce glasses of water during the day because Hoodia also curbs your thirst and drinking fluids helps your system flush itself out of the nasty stuff that is circulating around in your digestive system.   Hoodia appears to be safe for most people but a consultation with a health professional is recommended.
